For this new edition, the contest of elegance still managed to collect nine special Ferrari at Lake Como. Like every year, I have not sought to know in advance precisely what chassis it was, I prefer to keep the surprise, knowing that no deception is possible. For once we arrived on Friday noon directly from Maranello. Some cars have already made shootings in the park or in front of the Villa. But despite some photos made here and there, I return to the entrance to expect one of my car Grail, the Ferrari P4 / 5 Pininfarina that James Glickenhaus plans to bring here to accompany his new SCG003. Unfortunately, I lost 1h30 to expect this car which again will make me leap false because the owner eventually gave up at the last minute for reasons that escape me.
Frustration and disappointment will not prevent me from enjoying models that are there. Knowing that the P4 / 5 is to be exposed to Turin in three weeks. We will return in Italy at that time ...
I chose to make this year only a report for Ferrari. In ranking order, I suggest you to start by the Ferrari 212 Europa 1952 bodied by Vignale (S / N 0267 EU). It wears a black dress relieved by lines and a green roof. We are at the Villa d'Este, so the cars are all in exceptional condition.
The interior Pistachio is in agreement with the outside but it's still special. The engine is a 2562cc V12
In the same category "Made to Measure" here is the Ferrari 250GT Europa # 0359 GT from Vignale too. We are in 1954 and the V12 increased to 3 liters. The dark green body is difficult to highlight because of the contrast with the cream roof.
The interior is much more to my taste sober and elegant. No detail is overlooked.
In the category Gentlemen's Racers, we have the chance to discover a well-known car, especially for having belonged to Jacques Swaters, who never hesitated to get out his treasures. This is the Ferrari 166 MM # 0064 M of 1950. Its two-tone dress made by Touring is superb.
Even Lapo Elkann did not resist the urge to get on board and start the 2litres V12. The Barchetta won the Coppa d'Oro Villa D'este, the prize of honor in its class and also the Audience Award at Villa Erba on Sunday.
The Ferrari 250 GT LWB Competizione, also called Tour de France is quite a different copy of the edition 2014. The Scaglietti bodywork has only 3 louvres. Chassis 0723 GT.
A classic Ferrari, the 250 GT SWB 1962. This copy (3367 GT) does not differ from other models out of chains of Scaglietti, but it is no less remarkable. Midnight blue suits it very well. Perhaps the most beautiful blend of sportiness and class.
It's almost become a fixture at Villa d'Este: a Ferrari 250 GT California (# 1057 GT). But when we saw the magnificent blue one of 2012, hard to beat ...
It almost happens in modern in 1972 with the Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona S/N 14375. The conversions are so frequent that see a real Daytona Spider is a time to enjoy.
No, we are not back in 2013! It is indeed a new copy of the Dino 206 S (016). This car always makes me fantasize as much by its resemblance to the P4 but with reduced size. Unfortunately the 6 Cylinders 2 liters has not started for the parade on Saturday.
I have already presented in Geneva, it still does not bear the Prancing Horse emblem on, but its relationship with the house is not debatable. Enzo Ferrari sold a motor on a chassis, this is what we have under this dress created by Touring. The Berlinetta Lusso takes the basis of a F12 (# 194095). The body is made entirely of carbon fiber. The engine remains the 6.2 liter V12
Even if the only badges are for Touring, we can see the Ferrari inscription on intake ducts of the engine.
Outside the competition, we still have the pleasure of discovering more or less conventional models. 458 Spider, F12, 599 GTB...
But two cars from Andorra still bear the scars of the road. A LaFerrari always helps start the day!
But I'm almost me lingered on the white 458 Special A with its blue decoration.
I now invite you to discover the Ferrari of the auctions that took place in parallel.
