I took pleasure in discovering Rétromobile last year and I decided to return this year. The TGV puts us just 2h15 from Paris making good service. But it is not only the famous motorshow motivated me, what are the auctions that take advantage of the media attraction to come to the French capital. Thus, Artcurial presents in the show Porte de Versailles, Bonhams is the Grand Palais as RM Auctions took place at the Invalides. Everything was not possible in one day, so we stopped at RM Auctions and Rétromobile Fair which hosts Artcurial. I will return on sales later, for now, up to the motorshow.
Time to reach Porte de Versailles and eat, we start the visit to 2pm. We travel the stands in the order of our progress. The number of Ferrari is considerable but not all will be immortalized. As I discovered in 2015, this show is primarily a showcase for merchants and we can see a dozen copies of the same model. We retain only individuals or favorites. Besides the first two are original: A 512BB White and 308 with a two-tone-type BB.
The rise in sales prices alone justifies the amount of models on sale, even for unusual configurations or even less loved models. Here a black BB 512 and 365 GTC / 4.
We arrive at the Sport & Collection stand that offers us a great welcome. We are here between enthusiasts, not between wealthy individuals seeking a financial investment. Are presented at their booth 308 GrIV view to Sick Children's Wish this fall and a 250 GT SWB beautiful (# 1811GT).
And we can also discover some works of Yan Denes who designed the poster of the event in 2016.
On the other side lies the MMC stand with a 275 GTS, a F40 and a 275 GTB
Ferrari 365 GT 2+2
Although RM Auctions is currently conducting a sale at the Invalides, they already are promoting the next to be held in Monaco with this 340 America Touring freshly restored.
On the next stand, this is a row of Ferrari competition: a 312 F1 with the exhaust in the middle of the 12 cylinders, a 512S and 312B3 of Lauda of the 1974 season.
I have not told you about the lighting enormously distorting colors, even more photographed that in reality, but this 365 GTC / 4 is in a nice blue called Caracalla.
It continues with a beautiful duet: 275 GTB Short Nose and Daytona Spider.
A 250 GT Spider California and a 275 GTS
Dino are always many and the odds is climbing ... Just like the 288 GTO, much more rare!
The legend of the Berlinetta Boxer: 512 BB, Testarossa and F512M. In front, two 599: a HGTE and GTO.
Tillack proposed this victorious 250 Sport Mille Miglia 1952, a Dino 246 F1 of 1960 and the famous 212EL Vignale Coupe "Panamericana" 1951
Ferrari 225 Sport - 1952
Axel Schuette has yet brought a beautiful tray, but the stand is really too full to make beautiful pictures: Daytona Spider, 250 GT SWB, 275 GTB
A nice 250 GT Lusso
A Dino 246 GT in its Orange color that I love.
250 GT Cabriolet Pininfarina
The F40 were not many this year, but this beautiful LM largely makes up for it!
A 365 GTB/4 Daytona "plexi"
Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France and 250 GT SWB
512 S and 512 BB LM
Ferrari 365 Spyder California
Another Dino F246
Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Pininfarina
A 1973 Dino 246 yellow this time.
On the way to Artcurial hall, we pass through the exposure of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest including the stunning Dino Berlinetta Speciale Pininfarina, already seen in Geneva in 2013
And to close, a second 166MM
I thought I had some time to visit the show, but finally it happened very quickly and we had to fly over some stands. The impressive number of Ferrari inevitably involving frequent stops, it will probably plan to arrive just earlier next year ...
